Positive section of review
I was only on an overnight stay due to having an operation on my knee in claremont hospital. I asked if there was a lift available and the answer was NO. I cannot understand why a quality hotel does not have this facility. Surely it is illegal. Il contact Trust Pilot about this.

Simply lack of an elevator. This would deter poor walkers and wheelchair users from booking here. Also the reception staff on my check out day, though trying to be helpful had poor English understanding. You can't run any hotel unless staff gave really good communication skills. The guy on reception thought I wanted to cancel my booked taxi. He ordered another one which brought me to the hospital too early. He was very polite and tried to helpful but clear understanding of English is essential.

The apartment was suitable for our needs it was comfortable and the host was a lovely lady there was tea coffee and sugar and when we asked how far the shop was for milk she went and brought us some would highly recommend this gem of a place

Location in relation to National Sport Village (cycling velodrome). Stayed there for many years when it was Hampton by Hilton.

Stayed twice in September for cycling competitions. The whole property looks and feels tired and uncared for including outside areas with overflowing bins. Housekeeping was a problem. First day, despite engaging a lock on the door, tried repeatedly to get in while we were in the room. Second day when we left at 07:45, all that happened was the bed made - no bin emptied, no tea bags/sugar replenished, cups were not changed and no cleaning of table (sugar spillage). Final day, again pressured to leave earlier than we wanted to clean room (came before 10:00 with check out 11:00). Bits of paper in the corridor were there the whole time of second stay. Both stays there were things broken - alarm clock on first stay did not work, no alarm clock second stay and the personal reading light had a missing switch so could not be used. Black mould around shower door fittings in both rooms and wallpaper peeling in dining room area.

Lovely hotel very comfortable bed in superior king room, view over street.

Shortage of staff on duty at breakfast on the Sunday. Had to wait 10mins for clean washed cutlery and staff were a little scarce! Shower tray in bathroom needed bleaching. Lift door not opening properly in reception area.
