Jt was strictly average in all departments. Over priced breakfast Sky tv showing football. This is not a hotel but a pub with half a dozen rooms. Everything about the room smacked of doing it on the cheap. The bed was clean and comfortable i will give them that and it was quiet which was good. I cannot recommend this place for the reasons mentioned.

The bathroom, a ceiling light constantly flickering which should have been changed before we checked in. Shower cubicle needs retiling by someone who knows how to tile and grout. The basin tap which soaked us as soon as we turned it on. I do not like moaning about a place but the bathroom is a disaster.

Modest price for a modest 5 bed family room. A step above basic but quite acceptable. Tourists are out most of the time anyway. Booking process was smooth, our particular requirements were met as far as was reasonably possible. Room cleaned daily and linen changed, tea/coffee/shampoo/shower gel topped up daily.

Room was overly warm even in May. Would be very uncomfortable in summer proper. Getting large luggage (bikes in boxes) above ground floor would be an interesting exercise.

Ideal location for walking, visiting villages, caves and historic houses. Plenty of pubs and cafes in the village. The cottage was very well equipped and tastefully furnished. A lovely welcome pack provided for our arrival. The bedrooms (1 king sized,1 double) were ideal for 4 adults.

Breakfast not available until 9am which is of no use if on business and needing to be away. Nobody actually around in the morning. Tv in the room did not work. Inexperienced people working in bar and restaurant on a busy night and although clearly trying their best had no support from experienced employees. Certain drinks not available or running out and generally waiting maybe 15 mins to get a drink! Had to leave in the morning via a fire escape as front door was locked and could not see how to open it from the inside. No instructions on check in as about what to do in the morning, check out process, breakfast situation etc.

Changing towels every three days is beyond me.No inkling on site or in room to notify you.Would have bought extra towels.Felt so dirty.Very dissapointed! Also i found the breakfast ie sausages and bacon very cheap,stuck with scrambled egg etc.Cerals and fruit etc is good.Im no snob but the fry up is awful in my mind.Also 8.30 to 09.00 is a very short window.
