So many hotels with gyms/spas fall short of my expectations these days. Recently I've had ones where the spa doesn't open on certain days of the week, or not until 10am, or there is additional hidden cost to use the facilities. So good to find a place where you can go and have a leisurely swim and a sauna before breakfast. Definitely the ideal for me. Room and staff were great too. I stayed on a Sunday and was very good value for money on that day.

A very minor point, but I found myself without an iphone charger and there wasn't one to borrow from reception. Would have saved my bacon if that was possible!

Old windows were running with condentation and the shower door kept swinging open when wet,hence wet floor. To few places to put toiletries.Not quite 5 star. Dont book through Booking.com.you will be charged for parking, book with the hotel direct.

Post code takes you away from the hotel. Go to the services and you will be at the hotel. Was concerned that extended parking was in the services car park, however, car was still there on my return and taxi driver said they do not have problems with car parking.

Set filter for parking on Booking.com but after bookinggot e mail saying parking was off site and needed to be booked When i checked in they did not have my parking booking and I had to drive around for half an hour to find steet parking. With only 5 of site speces thehotel does NOT have parking.

Unfortunately, this vacation didn’t begin very well. Upon arriving, we messaged the owner to ask about the key code to enter the building. We were promptly responded with “it should be in your paperwork?” (Which we didn't know) We went to our e-mails, found the code, then see our host at the bottom of the stairs. She doesn’t look happy seeing us. We had booked this cottage through here booking.com and the cottage stated it was dog friendly. There was no option to inform the owner that dogs needed to be confirmed beforehand. The owner was quick to comment that we had not told her that dogs would be staying blaming us at fault for a lack of transparency. She also told us that this was the third time it had happened which very much then felt like she just wanted to complain at us. It is her problem if there is no option to select dogs during booking process not ours and she needs to contact booking.com for that and resolve her problem. She had a very negative vibe and she was problem orientated instead of solution. We really didn't feel welcomed. The Cottage: The interior isn’t hugely modern, but it is comfortable, quaint and it's ok for a few days vacation. However, the fridge is very old and doesn’t cool the food well, we were worried that our food such as fish and meat will go off. The electric boiling rings are extremely slow to heat up so we spent too much time to cook our food. There are wonky floors, the heaters are nailed with a screw so you can’t put hem on max therefore we felt cold. (see the photo) There is a very heavy and unpleasant smell of old wooden furniture.

Hi, Hope you are well. We did have a nice stay but did have some slight issues. We booked the double deluxe however someone was in our room on arrival and we were put into Room 3. Was this a standard room, it was a nice room but we did pay for the deluxe and I am not sure if these are the same price, if not will we be receiving the difference back? The other issue is Breakfast, I do know there are staffing problems at the moment but both this and the Board are being advertised as Breakfast not stating its Continental. The advertising of the Breakfast needs to state Continental until further notice really, we always enjoy our Breakfast when we stay but this time we ended up in a cafe unfortunately. The Landlady, Daughter and Staff we met were lovely. Thank You
