Beautiful old building that has retained its charm through respectful and well thought out decor. The staff are absolutely amazing! It was my wife’s birthday, and to our surprise and amazement, the staff decorated the room with flower petals, balloons and bunting!!

Fantastic view overlooking the promenade from the room and from the breakfast room. Good breakfast included. And the staff were very friendly. The hotel is 'of an age' but I think that adds to its charm and character.

The original sash windows are full of character. On a stormy West Cornwall night there's a bit of whistle coming through the window frames, but its a minor point.

I have been charged twice once from booking.com and the nice from the hotel and when I asked them about this they have seemed to reserve me again for another room.

The room was a good size. The landlord was very helpful and kind.

There were too many companies involved and my messages were not getting through. When I had problems although they gave a number to phone, I had to phone a few times and had to wait too long. In the end I had to try and find someone on the premises. I felt cold the second night. Some assistants would be very helpful, some were not trained or possibly, as they were foreign, they could not understand what the problem was. It got a bit too confusing and stressful. I am sorry I have to say that this "pass the keys" system is definitely not for me.

I tried the TV at about 22.45, and it had an error message, something like "weak single, check aerial", In the morning I was told I could have called reception, but that misses the point, there should be adequate instructions in the room to make the TW work.

Delay in breakfast due to one member of staff seemingly not knowing what they were doing. The smart TV had no working smart features. As soon as we opened the curtains we found wrappers on the floor, so a poor cleaning job.
