Beautifully immaculate room, with large bathroom and lovely freestanding bath and comfortable bed. Host that was always on hand to help and asked if we need anything doing or wanted extras of anything especially at Breakfast. Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful, and also a short walk away from a section of Hadrian's Wall.

If staying longer, there is no storage space to hang clothes, but we stayed one night so this did not affect our stay at all.

Great location in the centre. Love the history of the place and how the locals support it by popping in for afternoon tea etc. Great friendly staff. Stayed there many times before and will be back again. Lovely food. Can not fault it.

Very spacious, very clean. There are two TVs in the house which provide plenty of channels to view, and the owner provided dozens of DVDs as well. The Teddy Bears are lovely, Beds are comfy. Parking is easy. Will definitely come back.

Quiet, No need for heating on the night. There was a place to put clothes ( no hangers ?? ) and your stuff ( have been places where there is just the floor

While the room was finished off inside with a room light/window - come the rain in the night it made no difference as I might as well been in a green house ( for the sound kept me awake ) ... earplugs needed should it be forecast to rain :-)

Location is excellent, friendly receptionist (on check in) and they seemed to take security very seriously. I felt safe.

Costs were not transparent for the (extremely well stocked) mini-bar. We only had a few soft drinks and it ended up costing a lot of money. There is no menu/pricelist in the room. Also, the £50 hold deposit is unusual practice for a hotel rather than an apartment.

The kitchen facilities were probably fine, but we did not hang around long enough to test them.

Host was rude and passive aggressive about our arrival time, despite having spoken to her well in advance and being assured it wouldn't be a problem. WiFi details were not provided and heating could not be adjusted. Photos on the listing are out of date.
