The Hotel had a fantastic view over a local park and across the harbour to Paignton and Brixham. The breakfasts were varied and plentiful. The evening meals were very repetitive if the main choice was a meat course (however, this hotel has only recently changed hands and I think they are hoping to develop the menu.) We were there for 5 nights and on the 5th (friday) night the menu was exactly the same as the monday had been. This Hotel caters mostly for coach parties mon-fri, fri - mon.Rooms were cleaned and tea/coffee replenished every day except one. All the staff were lovely.

Although the Hotel had a lovely vista, unfortunately it backed on to the main town with a very busy main road right outside. There was a lot of noise throughout the night from the traffic and from drunks shouting , swearing and fighting. Not the Hotels fault, but this would be a major factor in my not returning to it as we were very sleep deprived by the time we left.

Fabulous breakfast. Huge choice with smoked salmon, eggs benedict etc that are normally 'extras'. Room spotless and well furnished. Dinner excellent. Beautifully cooked and presented. HUGE portions too. Staff very friendly and helpful. The Restaurant Manager was outstanding. Not only was he efficient and friendly but fun too.

Beautiful location right on the bay. Excellent staff on reception and serving in restaurant, polite and helpful. House keeping good. Lovely breakfast each morning with plenty of choice and a good choice of evening meals. Very prompt service in restaurant.

Shower pressure was low but that's comparing it with our shower at home. A written menu would be helpful for what options are available for the cooked breakfast.

The “Holiday Inn Express” signage on the top of the building can be positioned as prominent as “Crowne plaza” hotel would definitely make it much easier for travelers to locate it easier.

The pub is really cosy, the staff are attentive. Especially Shirley, the rooms were real cozy and clean. Will defo stop there again.

I was very disappointed with the location of our room. We did not book a river view however was not expecting view of the car park.. it was noisy and had a floodlight all night.. I could have booked a travelodge for such a view at a much cheaper rate.. the room was quite small too.. not impressed and very disappointed. I felt that the hotel was geared towards American visitors …

Booking.com not responding to my messages about my anfield accommodation stay the week before what didn't happen . Room had other people's rubbish in, dirty used towels, no one would answer phone , when they did I had already booked for brownlows , but now still £50 down. The bad side of pre payment
