The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

We liked the quaint little village surrounding the hotel itself (which is part of the hotel/spa), the room we booked was the cottage and it was hidden away so we had more privacy than expected and we had our own terrace garden. Although we didn't use the spa facilities, the thermal pool looked inviting. The side of the pool is exposed (shutters roll up) so you feel like you're in an outdoor pool. Will definitely use the pool next time. On arrival to our room, we received complimentary spa-like toiletries (smelled amazing) and chocolates as we were there for our anniversary. One of the reasons we booked here was because they were dog friendly as we wanted to take our dog with us. They provided a dog bed and water bowl which was a nice touch.

Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that the shops and tea room wasn't open when we stayed as we booked on a weekday, but we went there for the accommodation so it wasn't a huge issue.

Location is just behind Dale End Cafe, which is great for breakfasts & lunch. It's within walking distance of Ironbridge's many shops and cafes (about 10 mins), and similar driving distance to Telford and some of the other museums. There's a Co-op on the corner, which is handy for groceries. The property has plenty of parking. It also has a lovely patio, which got the sun all day. The kitchen and living room were both cool in the hot weather. We loved the bi-folding doors, which meant you could enjoy the afternoon sun whilst staying cool. The three bathrooms and well equipped large kitchen, were a bonus. Bed linen and towels were great. The property is nicely decorated, very clean, and really felt like home.

The red & blue dot under the shower tap over the bath are the wrong way round, but there was always plenty of hot water, once you realised this.

Riverbed bathroom pod - shower and toilet combination felt a little tight.

Good breakfast with many options. Location is very central, near to the Hop On bus stop and to central Edinburgh. Friendly staff were very helpful.

Only downside was the wooden window frame in our room was starting to deteriorate. The building is old and perhaps the window frames could use some rehab or replacement. No real impact on our comfort, but this type of corrective maintenance can make the difference in the long haul.
