Redcar is the perfect location for exploring North Yorkshire between Durham and York. Our luck with Red Barns Bed & Breakfast was threefold. 1) John and Jackie are the perfect hosts. Friendly, very helpful and both have a British sense of humour. 2. the B&B itself is located in a lovingly restored building steeped in history. Our room was perfect. Tastefully furnished and with a marvellous view of the well-tended garden. We found a meticulously clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. 3. the breakfast more than met our expectations. It was always freshly prepared and simply delicious. Whenever we come back to the area, Red Barns B&B will be our first port of call

I liked the location and friendliness of the staff. It was a bit old worldly and slightly dated but nonetheless nice. We used the restaurant twice and had two really good meals with nice service. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again especially if we were visiting Ireland again as we used this hotel to visit the local area before catching a ferry from Holyhead. Beaumaris and local area is also worth a tour.

lovely room with all the facilities I needed , plenty of tea and coffee options . The bed was extremely comfortable , in my experience the best I've slept on in the UK . Hopefully will stay again during the cricket season & for other concerts . Good selection for breakfast too.

The only thing I would say is the price is a little high but when it boils down to it , you certainly do get what you pay for.

Arrived early.14.00hrs , and new I was early. Waited until after 15.00hrs to be informed the room was ready. When entering the room the single beds were not made and used towls still in the shower room. After reporting the issue the staff apogised and attended to the room. Eventually after twohours plus the room was declared ready, but another delay as towls had not been provided.

The Garden Restaurant. Very friendly staff. Food excellent. Good location for South Terminal Gatwick.

We didn't sleep well the mattress was too hard and high to get onto. It was a nuisance to have to go up a floor to give my car registration number for drop off. Couldn't see how to notify the airport that assistance was required (already booked).
