Reception staff really pleasant. Spotless hotel, lovely room with a double bed and a large single bed. Treats left for us in room which was a nice surprise. Bathroom was great. Appeared to be a good atmosphere in bar area when we returned from dinner. Breakfast was really good, hot and constantly replenished. Great location, short walk from Temple Meads train station and then shirt walk to shopping district. There’s a Sainsbury’s local a few minutes away which was handy as my daughter forgot contact lense solution!

Only complaint would be the fridge was ineffective.

We got upgraded upon arrival, and our room was so cosy! It had a rain shower and a really comfortable bed. We didn't use it, but there was also a kitchen with our upgrade. If we were staying longer, this would have been great! The location was also perfect.

Charming! I absolutely loved this little cottage, which is deceptively spacious. I honestly could live there happily. Very tastefully done. Everything you could want and a lovely little reading corner.

The bed felt a bit unstable.Whenever one of us rolled over, the whole bed seemed to move. We found a pair of trousers in the wardrobe..the whole place was very clean but we thought the furniture should've been checked!

Interior was a little tired and the downstairs flat houses a chain smoker

I was booked into a standard double but the room was neither standard (as it was windowless which is definitely not standard!) not double (twin beds pushed together with a gap between to fall into, which meant you and your partner either had to share one single bed or sleep on different beds). The worst feature was the zero water pressure in our room, meaning it was not possible to take a shower or bath - in the spa town of Harrogate! My partner attempted to take a shower and had to invest 20 minutes trying to stand under the shower head catching a drip at a time. As I have long hair that needed a wash, I realised that showering in that particular room was not an option for me. We complained and were told they would "look into it", but they did not resolve it on the night we checked in, so I had to lie sweaty in bed overnight hoping that a solution could be found in the morning. The next morning - my birthday - I woke up desperate for a shower. Reception agreed to move us - but we had to wait (in my case feeling very sweaty and uncomfortable) for a couple of hours before this happened. Then there was the skylight - which woke us both up very early in the morning (it was summer) with its bright light shining directly into our eyes. Torture! Another problem was the nightlight on one side of the room was not working - so I could not read in bed at night before falling asleep, as is my custom. Coffee/tea/biscuits were disappointing. Harrogate is the home of Taylor's Tea, so I was looking forward to some speciality/herbal teas - there were none. The biscuits were jammy dodgers and bourbons in cheap packaging. The final insult was parking! The hotel advertises that it has parking for guests at a cost of £15 a night - but beware - there are a totally insufficient number of spaces c.f. number of rooms, and they will rent out the spaces to anybody willing to pay £25 a day - clearly prioritising profits over guests. We could not get a space!!

My sister and I arrived very late due to a plane delay at Bournemouth. We arrived after 11.30 pm in pouring rain and big wind. We were unable to open the key box as we hadn’t been told to press the buttons on both sides. We phoned/messaged the emergency number but got no response which was disappointing. It was very distressing. Eventually we found the button on the second side.It was after midnight by this time. We had hoped for a response on an emergency line There was no hanging space in the second bedroom which was disappointing.
