This is a lodge with a lot of history, purposely divided into multiple dwellings, so my experience is based on the superior luxury option on the ground floor which far exceeded my expectations and was what I was looking for to unwind after much travel over an extended weekend. A lot of thoughtful effort has gone into the contemporary modern decor and enhancements and it is a huge studio space full of luxury. Added advantage also being exclusive use of the jacuzzi with tranquil garden surroundings. Very secure nice neighbourhood, decent food options nearby. The Host was also very warm and responsive and quite detailed in ensuring an enjoyable stay.

as with all properties this age, the walls are thin, and you cannot control who your neighbouring guests may be...if you can get over this then it's a good stay,

Location was good and quickly accessed from the M1. Staff was ok with us arriving after midnight to book in. For some reason when submitting the review it is giving a 5 star rating. Please note my rating is 2-3.

The room due to being on the ground floor next to the meeting room and dining area, there is nothing but noise, so you can't really get a decent sleep. Staff said there was no other rooms available so unfortunately had to stay put. The cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom was not the best. There are 2 plug sockets available and neither are located near the bed. The remote control for the TV does not work properly, so the TV was left off. As for Breakfast please note that they finish serving when they want. It's advertised on there website and the room key that they give you that breakfast is served untill 11am on the weekend. We went out at 10:30 nothing was there and no staff was available. A member of staff came out with half a sausage hanging out her mouth, sorry breakfast finishes at 10:30 then went to walk back to the kitchen. Informed we was told 11, and it was also advertised as 11. She was not interested, advised her it was false advertising and that l want refunding for the breakfast's. She then tried to fob me off and said that our booking did not include breakfast. I showed her the booking which included breakfast. She refunded the breakfast and walked away. It is safe to say we will not be returning.

Good little location for S. lakes. Nice pub across the road, didn't try the food but very friendly. Great layout for 2 families with 1 child, family going with grandparents, etc

The room could have been more clean, dirt and dust along the walls. The window in my room didn't fully shut which meant it was very quite loud at night being a Saturday night. It was quite expensive

Check in staff cold and unhelpful. Bed preference not met despite having an email confirming preference. Towel rail not working so wet towels in the am. One side of the bed did not have a bedside table - glass of water on the floor!! Loud music outside the room until late in the pm. Staff at reception did not ask about my stay.
