The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Edinburgh is very expensive so finding a good place to stay in transit is a challenge. This hotel is on the main airport bus route into the city centre but only 15 minutes from the airport with excellent bus links. There is a busy bar restaurant in the hotel and other restaurants and shops nearby.

As I was transiting had a bit of luggage and no lift to the upper floor. Thanks to the great reception staff who helped me with this.

Flatters to deceive. Good location next to Sefton Park, public areas well presented with an array of 60's memorabilia around the walls inside the bar, breakfast room and hallways. Breakfast was good when you can get it!

The room we stayed in is badly affected with road noise through the old style, ill fitting single glazed sash window overlooking a dual carriageway to the rear. Leaking shower tray with multiple layers of sealer to try and fix it, blocked slow draining sink and shower, broken lock in the bathroom. Holes in the walls in the main room and bathroom and wallpaper hanging off and loose. In the ceiling above the entrance door there is an area damaged from a previous water leak leaving staining and missing plaster and an attempted botched repair. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable and not to hotel standard. Reception staff were unhelpful, unfriendly and lacked the required communication skills for the job and were constantly having to apologise for their failures. At check-in we weren't told breakfast timings or given any basic information about the layout of the hotel. To that end we missed breakfast on our second morning as for some reason breakfast is only served until 9 am during the week, which for an establishment calling itself a hotel is very poor and badly communicated, there is no information in your room only small sign on the reception desk easily missed.

Room was small but big enough for our needs, it had a comfortable double bed in. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We'd definitely return. It's positioned perfectly for a quiet weekend by the seaside.

Beautiful old building with fabulous views of the loch. Room was spacious and comfortable. Communal areas were grand and you could imagine it as a hunting lodge..
