2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

As soon as we opened the door a young lady welcomed us in & made the 4 of us very welcome 👌.The owner Karen came & introduced her self .such a loverly lady .kettle & full tray of tea’s & coffee & some biscuits. Very clean & homely . The food is all home made 10/10 we arrived very wet on our motorbikes so Karen very kindly put the heating on so we could all dry our gear bless her . Next trip being planned for our next stay 😍

No breakfast but we took in food to cook and have as it had a lovely kitchen in it. Size of Apartment was lovely, large with 2 big bedrooms, one with queen bed and other bedroom 2 singles in it. Both had wardrobes One separate bathroom with shower over bath. NO shelves to put toilet bag on though not wide enough for travellers Great functional kitchen, with washing machine in it but no dryer unfortunately

In kitchen - please keep a pair of tongs for handling cooked food, paper towels would be nice and a ice cube tray please. Cleaner came early while I was trying to pack next morning, she was lovely , but I was trying to do the dishes to fulfil our side of bargain at 10am. When getting our keys, there was no car park near by, at least 10 mins walk away where you could park your vehicle in another parking building and only a loading zone to offload suitcases. We had difficulty as no Apartment name on the building as such, or number on the street also, only a locked box beside a very inconspicous doorway and we got our instructions for all this too late only the night before, and we didn't have access to get these instructions.

We chose The Labouring Man because of the proximity to South Downs walks and sites to visit and it was a good choice for that purpose. It is small ( only 4 rooms I think) with comfortable , clean nicely decorated rooms with a settee and space for cases. The rate included a nice breakfast. The dinner menu has a number of good choices.

The restaurant was dirty, there are cobwebs from the wall lights, the evening meal was expensive, after ask two of the staff for coffee at the end of the meal we had to go to the bar and ask for a third time for coffee, the choice at breakfast was very poor.

Rooms are badly dated and in desperate need of modernisation. Badly filled holes in walls, cracks in the ceiling, carpets coming away at the edges, screws left in the walls that would have had pictures that have been removed, exposed wires, lights with covers missing, furniture old and scruffy. Not what you expect for nearly £300 for a 1 night stay.
