My first time not living in a city center. If you are looking for a classic english countryside living this is the place for you. Beautiful hills and smaller farming villages nearby. The hotel even has its own eggs and very near hiking trails and an active watermill. Wonderful staff and one of the better places i have been to so far. A plus is that there is plenty space to park and the breakfast was great

The only thing is that the showers where this machine of sorts that regulates heat. It is very common in england so not any different anywhere else but it does make the water have a bit lower pressure. The other thing is that you do need a car to come here. There is limited to no public transport and the roads are a bit worn so do chose a sturdy car :) None of this is a issue with the hotel and would stay here again any time!

The hotel was busy but we had a nice quiet room on the ground floor. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent and the restaurant was well managed so you didn't notice how busy it was. Plenty of parking and very close, with easy access to the M6 so ideal for a stopover when travelling North/South.

They had an hiccup with 1 meal,party of 3,2 meals subsequently left under hot light. When they came, not good, Complained ,manager agreed ,took the starters of bill, we had no mains,just a mistake, very apologetic Nice people, it was late they had been very busy,our starters were delicious,

Fantastic friendly welcoming hosts - kept the kitchen open for our late arrival. Delicious home made dinner. Really comfortable beds, great shower and superb cooked breakfast. Perfect location for us. Thank you !!

After reading so many positive reviews, i was disappointed that i didnt have the same experience...it wasnt ready on time but credit where its due, the owners immediately offered a later checkout, 👍...nobody had mentioned that there were window blinds but no curtains, so at 0430 it was wide awake club, the pots and pans are only cheap, so they warped on use, the knife block set had rust coloured stains that i couldnt get off, there was no pot towel or dish cloth and only one black bin bag,the on suite shower was broken although i managed a temporary gaffer tape fix,there is a laundering room which i found towards the end of our stay, but no access
