Absolutely beautiful building nestled in the middle of the breathtaking surrounding. We quickly checked in at 5 pm. and went for a walk around not to waste a daylight. Beautiful track along the river, up to the waterfalls - easy to find, well signed. Designed to be easily accessible almost for everyone - even a wheelchair users can enjoy the majority of it. Entertaining for children as well. A few steps away from the hotel is a well designed playground for children. Very big rooms,spotlessly clean, well equipped. We were very lucky that our room was facing the river, so we slept with windows open just to listen to the sounds of nature. I can't remember when I slept so well. Delicious breakfast - full Scottish was a "must," plus some continental selection.

We were so mesmerised with the nature around that we missed the last entry to the spa and pool... which was 8.15 pm. It would be great to extend opening hours until 10 pm...

I booked this hotel as it had a gym advertised on Booking.com. when I arrived I asked where the gym was, I was told that the advert wasn’t correct and they didn’t have a gym. upon arrival the receptionist wasn’t helpful, didn’t know what she was doing and kept me waiting for at least two minutes before acknowledging I was there….. just rude. the communal hall ways on the day of arrival and on the day I left were packed full of trolleys full of bedding making it hard to pass. bedroom 311 (my room) there was bed linen piled up right outside the door…. is this the storage area? aren’t there any storage rooms to allow the hotel to retain the four star?!? my room (311) hadn’t been cleaned properly as there were crumbs on the carpet and on the window sill. the room was noisy due to the windows not closing correctly which kept me awake all night. room 305 had the front door missing and it looked like someone had trashed it, the door was poorly taped up with a sheet that was hanging off as the hotel was falsely advertised (no gym) I expect a full refund.
