My friend and I really enjoyed our time in Shropshire, but particularly at the hotel where the service was excellent! Staff were so friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely evening meal and the breakfast was very good too (I was provided with a very nice vegan breakfast). The location was good and the village was very pretty too. I slept like a log and would definitely stay at the Lion hotel again when wanting to visit the area.

The location is superb and surrounded by all the top rated restaurants in the same street. A stone's throw from the river as well. Lovely restaurant and breakfast was first class. Chef will happily make an omelette as well.

Paid extra for a Queen room and wasn't worth the money. Room still small and not very luxurious. Fridge didn't work. No facilities apart from selling point - the great location of the hotel.

The apartment was beautiful. It was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. It was perfectly located only a short walk from the town centre and just up the road from the Safari park.

The actual shower was fine. It was near a bus stop.

There was mold in the bathroom along the ceiling. Two doors were not completely painted, the edges along the hinges were unpainted. There were no oven mitts so we had to use a bath towel. John said he would send a pair the next day but they never arrived. The hot water in the kitchen and bathroom was scalding. The floors were not clean. The bathroom had no towel bars or hooks to hang towels on. The box of laundry detergent was empty and John suggested we go buy some and be reimbursed (on my holiday I don’t plan to do the owner’s shopping!) The outside garden area was weed ridden and the furniture was filthy with a full ashtray. The beds were very uncomfortable.

Room temperature was too hot. Radiator was on full. I notified receptionist shortly after checking in, in the evening and when returning to my room later after dinner, the radiator was still on. A man came to turn it off but whatever he did, didn’t work. I was given a fan but it didn’t have much effect. A young man behind the bar used his bank card to drain away too much cordial he had poured in a glass full of ice, when I asked for a completely new glass and measure he seemed reluctant to do so until I insisted. Breakfast is expensive and if you want to use the pool, you have to pay extra.
