The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Location, comfort, friendly and local feel, traditional village pub vibe. Better options than a Premier Inn.

Stairs are a bit tight for upper rooms.

Breakfast wasn't great, over cooked bacon and sausages.

Cheap and straightforward.

Collecting the keys required extra walking — a pain with luggage — and meant that we were constantly having to work out who had the key. An additional key, or a combination box outside the property would have been much more flexible for us. Given that the property don't allow under 18s, I would think this will be a frustration for a fair proportion of guests.

This was not a good stay!

My wife and I stayed here overnight for work, and thankfully we arrived very late and had to leave early because there was no natural light in our room - the window was completely boarded up, and it felt like we were in a cave. We were not told in advance that this would be the case, if we had known we would have stayed elsewhere. The room didn't reflect the photos (the photos showed a room with a window with natural light!), particularly for the price we paid, this was not a comfortable stay. We thought we'd book a Hilton hotel as a treat, but it turned out to be way worse than a budget hotel. The room also felt tired and smelt damp. I explained to the reception in the morning, and they looked a bit sheepish and did offer a partial refund but as it was booked via booking.com, they couldn't refund us. They really shouldn't be offering that room out to guests whilst the windows are boarded up, it should either be temporarily out of order or they should heavily discount it and let guests know in advance!!! The photos below were taken on a bright May morning at 9.30am!
