Our stay was wonderful! We loved the location, our hosts were brilliant and friendly. We loved our breakfast every morning, especially the hot freshly baked crossiants 🥐 The little touches did not go unnoticed, the whiskey on a side board in front of our room, the coffee, tea, the decor and the attention to detail. Thank you, we will be back!

We had a great stay and the whole experience was fantastic. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and the breakfast was exceptional value too. Lots of choice but if there was one criticism,we would have liked the hot food hotter in heat. Other than that it was superb.

This is a small, quaint B&B in the heart of Torquay. The place although quite old is very clean and certainly fit for purpose for myself as a solo female traveller and needing to feel safe. The owners were lovely and welcoming.

Facilities not as advertised (no air conditioning), room was filthy - sticky fridge, various stains on pillows and lamps, black mould on the bathroom ceiling, robe had makeup all over it despite being hung up in the bathroom as new. Every surface in the room seemed to have a mucky film over it. Rude and unhelpful staff, excluding a couple of gems. The instant coffee provided must have been wet at some point because it was all grey, white, and clumped together. The bath didn't drain. Information on booking confirmation seems to conflict with what is actually available at the hotel, and if you need anything from any of the staff they are completely unwilling to help. Complained about the cleanliness of the room to the front desk on the second day, as we only really started to notice things in the daylight the more time we spent in the room, using the fridge and bathroom etc. We were met with "You should have informed us straight away because there's nothing we can do now". Tried to explain that the room should never be that dirty to begin with, but the employee kept interrupting to say she can't do anything. Called reception on the first night to see if someone could fix the air conditioning, as my booking confirmation says there is air conditioning and the room was too hot to sleep in. They sent a man up with a heater. Called again to say the issue wasn't that we were cold, it was that the air con isn't working. They told us they'd send someone up with a "cooler", but nobody ever came so I think that was a joke? The bed was also 2 single beds attached together, which is fine, except one of them was collapsed in the middle. We didn't realise until my partner lay on the side I'd been on and remarked on how high up and how much better my side was. He'd just assumed the entire bed was uncomfortable and sank in the middle, but it was actually just one side.

Pet smell on leather sofa although I accept this is a pet friendly house on lower floors. Maybe they can be covered where pets are staying and cleaned after? Could do with non slip bath mat for when showering. Stairs are OK but maybe not so easy for elderly and they do eat into landing area outside bathroom. Layout of basement lounge needs a bit more thought - doesn't feel welcoming with 2 sofas side by side
