Very dated. We were cycling the Wolf Way and chose to eat in the hotel. The kitchen was totally disorganised - one meal at a time and one of the party still didn;t get his dinner. he had to go out for a sandwich from the all-night shop across the road.

The Bulls Head is in a great location and the recent refurbishment is modern and fresh. Good size TV in bedroom. Very welcoming for dog owners and the doggy welcome pack was a nice touch.

Sadly since our last stay and the refurbishment a cooked breakfast is no longer an option. They now only provide a continental breakfast which is served in your room. This isn’t very practical as the room was quite small and there is only 1 chair at the desk. The change of breakfast arrangement is not highlighted on booking.com which was disappointing as we probably wouldn’t have booked.

The host left a selection of basic food and drinks for our arrival which was unexpected but very welcome.

Hotel was in a good location and walkable to everywhere we needed to go. Breakfast was good.

The noise from the bar beside hotel was very loud on Friday and Saturday night. As this was a family room it was totally unacceptable. The boom boom noise was just vibrating through the walls. Another problem was that there was nowhere to hang coats.

We arrived at 2.30pm , rooms are not ready until 3pm which we were aware of, we checked at 3pm room not ready and told we would be contacted in 10 minutes, chased again after 30 minutes and again after a hour, we would have been impressed if offered a cup of coffee while we waited for a hour and consider that would have been great customer service. One thing to note if you select” pay at property”we were charged immediately on reservation and having had to cancel our original booking and rebook I had to chase for repayment 5 weeks after the payment was taken, Steve the general manager sorted this following one email so good service
