Restaurant - The Black Horse Inn is in a glorious position on the Pilgrim's Way. There are several well laid out areas outside at the back of the Pub Restaurant to accommodate eating and drinking for quite a large number of people. Accommodation - The bedrooms with ensuites are contemporary and clean so you can get in and relax immediately. Parking for the staying visitors is separate and close to the accommodation. Atmosphere is friendly (to people and dogs!) and relaxed.

Restaurant - We pre-booked an early evening meal (18:45) as the menu looked good, and food had good ratings. Unfortunately the starter ordered from the daily specials board had already run out. The chicken with mushroom sauce had garlic in both the sauce and the accompanying potatoes which meant that with my partner's garlic intolerance he could not have it, and apparently the dish could not be prepared without garlic. The chef suggested fish and chips which although were only on the lunch time menu they still had a supply. Having sorted out an alternative we waited over an hour for the meal. The ordered desserts - ice cream and pear tartin also took ages to arrive. There did not appear to be many people dining, and when we complained we did not get any explanation as to why the service was so slow. Accommodation - worth mentioning that the lodges are sub divided, so every two individual rooms share a common entrance. The dividing wall between the two accommodations was apparently quite thin as you could hear guests in the other room if they were speaking loudly (though thankfully you couldn't hear the actual content of the conversation!).

We loved some of the staff, super helpful and friendly, we spent our honeymoon at the Grazing goat and they helped us out a lot. The room was beautiful and the pub was lovely. Amazing location, the little street in Marylebone was perfect.

The stairs were a bit of a hassle when arriving and leaving with luggage. The sliding door to the en-suite could have been more soundproof.

Lovely location with access to the delightful hotspots both inland and to the coast. My husband was also most grateful for the the host who advised him where to obtain important medicine It was all very nice and hunky dory

Spotless, bed was so comfortable also had tea/coffee in room, only gripe was running out of hot water on 2nd shower but everything else was perfect 👌🏼

In advance asked for a ground floor room If possible but couldn't have had a room more far away , too far to carriage bags along two long corridors with dogs , room a little small with having two dogs but we managed Food was over priced , menu a little limited ,for one meal I had Caesar salad , I didn’t recieve any meat on my plate but the chef argued I had which made me feel angry , it must have been hidden behind the lettuce leaf I left ! Smoke alarm was flashing all night Pleanty of land but nothing Enclosed for dogs , the land was quite dangerous in places .

Location/proximity to sea front but also quiet. Rooms were large and airy, superbly equipped and spotless.

The workmen using the carport as storage, noisy and messy (not the venues fault, but somebody must’ve allowed them). Eating breakfast difficult given cabs and lorry’s parked outside window
