The view over the city was amazing, the kitchen had everything you needed (apart from a sponge to wash up), the sofa was comfy. Location was good for shops and town center.

The bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom was ridiculously small, the Wi-Fi didn’t work and the person I messaged wasn’t helpful at all. No instructions on how to use the oven. There was an ironing board but no iron.

Close to Clare which is a pretty village. Food at The Swan was lovely with excellent service. Breakfast at Tarka's Cafe, Halstead was very nice too.

I chose this on Booking.com because it had great reviews but very misleading. The owners had been described as very attentive but seemed unprepared for us arriving, didnt introduce themselves or appear that interested. We were expecting an outdoor fireplace, as described but it wasnt until the booking had been paid for and confirmed that I received an email which stated that this was an optional extra and would cost almost £25 and £100 deposit to be paid on arrival. I believe this should have been clearly stated prior to booking. The site and accommodation is looking abit tired but nonetheless we made the most of the beautiful weather and used it as a base for the night.

Located right next to train station which was perfect for following morning onward travel. All staff were friendly.

The room (112) was in a very poor state. The window catch was broken and wouldn't close fully , radiator was hanging of the wall , carpet was loose and worn , the bathroom was grubby and tired looking This was not a cheap room and I would expect better!

Staff were inattentive and lacked any customer service. Room was the worst we’ve ever stayed. Don’t have space to detail the full issues but i emailed them all to head office. it was so bad we almost slept in the car, we’d have left had we not had a couple of drinks.
