I felt the room was clean/not dusty and enjoyed the fact this hotel is one of the rarer hotels where you can actually open the window of the room to get fresh air. I have stayed in a few hotels in York and mould is common problem across hotels esp in the bathroom. However, in my bathroom/room there was no mould. The place has pool table, basic gym but modern and location is not far from central of York along the river - it is nice walk on a sunny day. Bed mattress was okay, not terrible, not great but fair for the price paid, sheets were clean that was the main thing. Staff very chilled and approachable from check in and check out. Quiet, not too noisy and lighting in the room is well balanced. Shower was fine, hot water came out and room temperature was good.

I do feel having a safe inside a room would be better as generally hotels have this. Maybe I did not see it but it seemed like they did not have one? If I was being picky I would say footstall in the room had a small slight mark/stain. I would have liked herbal tea selection rather than just British tea in the room but appreciated the kettle. Perhaps option for larger room?

We had stayed at this hotel a number of years ago and although pleasant the beds were a bit uncomfortable, however when I was planning our recent trip I noticed the hotel had been refurbished and so booked in. Wow what a transformation and the bed was amazing so a good night's sleep was had, the new decor in the room just hit the right spot for the hotel and for us the location was good.

Really good value for money. As long as you know what type of hotel you're staying in, you won't be disappointed. Lots of OAPs arriving in coaches and cheesy entertainment. Basic breakfast. But we knew this before we booked. It was cheaper and more comfortable than a travel lodge.

The room was clean & spacious with excellent housekeeping. Manager of breakfast area was fabulous, couldn't do enough for us and was friendly and approachable. Breakfast really good value, great quality and plenty of choice. Highly recommend a stay.

A group of men at breakfast listening to news on their phones, very loud & no consideration for other diners experience. Luckily they had nearly finished when we arrived, but other diners looked annoyed at their behaviour, though not hotels fault.

Excellent location with plenty of Parking space. Swimming pool and spar facilities exceptional. Room was spacious,with comfortable bed. Very good choices of beverages. Staff friendly , efficient and knowledgeable.

Absolutely loved the property, clean and tidy with a cozy coastal feel to it. Lovely host too. The property was on one level so really easy for my mum who has mobility problems. Location was perfect.

The view from our room was very ugly, fire escapes and broken windows. I was woken at 4am by very loud pigeons roosting just outside my window. Couldn’t sleep.
