We have stayed in this lovely cottage before and will definitely go back. It is cosy and comfortable and has everything you want in a lovely location around the corner from the town centre. Parking is free on the Riverside mews. It is normally 1 hour parking on the street so if there is no space available you can park across the road in a large carpark until space becomes available and then you are supplied with a resident's permit. I will mention, because it is an old cottage the stairs are steep and have a kite turn, so if you have mobility issues check with the owners first. The owners are very helpful and quick to reply to messages.

The staff were so helpful & professional. We checked in approx 3pm, having had no lunch, and they very kindly made us soup & sandwiches. We were there to attend a show at the Carnegie Hall so the staff then arranged for an early dinner. The hotel really went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable & to help make our evening at Carnegie Hall relaxed with no worries re dining times. The hotel is beautifully decorated, clean, warm & very inviting. The food was delicious & well presented. Breakfast was made to order & again was very tasty.

Everything was perfect. We felt really at home. Best things were Kay's hospitality and her commitment. She personally guided us through the village, the area and its highlights, showed us not broadly known gems. In the morning, she accompanied us on the first mile of our hiking trip. A level of basic below anything I'd know before, my room was a hot attic level small box, spotlessly clean I have to say, but uncomfortable - I had sleep. If you are a tourist doing london and just need a cheap bed then fair enough but this was just just not for me, I want a plug in my sink, to see the TV, to feel like the bed is comfy , I want 2 pillows, this hotel needed a lift! Breakfast was generally a tricky awkward experience.

The carpet is dated there was no toilet brush in the shower room the water on the shower at it's highest temperature was only tepid at best and having to wait for 20 minutes to be seated for breakfast and a another 10 mins for coffee
