This was the epitome of "faded grandeur" a huge seaside hotel from a bygone age. We had a sea view room with large windows allowing plenty of light. The room was spotless and the shower, although over a bath, was exceptionally powerful with plentiful hot water, Wifi was good and the bed on the firm side but comfortable. The bar and huge seating areas were very comfortable with great views. I had the best pint of Bellhaven Best I've had in a long time. All of the staff I met were helpful and pleasant. The location couldn't be bettered and the price was reasonable.

Considering the age of the hotel and its size it's doubtful that they could do much better. The buffet breakfast was pretty standard but plenty of choice. The weather was hot while we were there so I can't comment on heating.

Very friendly and helpful owners. We arrived like drowned rats after a very wet day on the South West coast path but were made to feel very welcome. Although the kitchen wasn't open (they are aiming for June), we were pointed in the direction of nearby fish & chips and they provided us with plates, cutlery etc - and we could buy excellent beer from their bar. Plus we had the added attraction of a darts match as entertainment! Nice big room and excellent traditional cooked breakfast.

The location is good for South West coast path so suited us, but is a 20-30 minute walk from Weymouth harbour and most of the restaurants/facilities (note - this is exactly how it is described so I'm not complaining!) In our room, the (small) shower cubicle was in a separate cut-out from the sink/toilet on opposite sides of the room.

There is a washer dryer in the hallway. But there is no detergent.

The first floor was under construction, so it was hectic, and the host didn't tell us at all. Only one towel is provided per person even though it is for four nights. No toilet paper holder in the bathroom. The stairs in the attic were too narrow that I almost got hurt while moving my carrier.
