The hotel for the cost exceeded expectations, ideal location for the Eden Project and other attractions. the room was very quite and clean. Staff were very helpful and freindlyoriginally booked one night but then added a further night as it was really good value

The smoke alarm flashed all night and kept me awake unfortunately. I mentioned it to staff first thing in the morning but nothing was done about it so it continued to flash the following evening. I mentioned it again the next day and nothing was done or said again. That was really unfortunate as otherwise the stay would've been perfect.

The signposting to walk from Pod to hotel with heavy suitcases. Did not at first notice to small faded map in the Pod station, just the arrow, followed that direction, walked all around the car park still with heavy suitcases back to the start. the turn to the hotel was hidden by bushes, not marked on the road. Not happy.

Arrived after a long journey to be told they did not do food of any description, neither meals or breakfast. I informed them of my messages via booking.com that we would like to book an evening meal if that were possible and that both of us were vegetarian which may impact on menu choice and breakfast. The messages were sent some days if not weeks in advance along with one regarding parking. I received no response to any of the messages. When this was raised in the discussions over food on arrival, the landlords response was 'we dont bother with the messenger service on Booking.com its unreliable!' Thornton Dale is a lovely village, it deserves better than this from one of its most prominent places to stay. Information on their section of Booking. com is unreliable at best, at worst it could be deemed in breach of trades descriptions act for miss-selling! Wont return again!
