Communication with the host was good. Little touches like the dressing gowns, milk, tea and coffee provided... Right in the centre of shops, pubs, cafes etc, walk down the 199 steps from the Abbey and it's a very short walk home. A short walk over the bridge to the other side of Whitby too.

Hairdryer, was the only fault. Small and no cool button, but is fine if you have short hair. They even put a fan in the bedroom for me..... But if you suffer from the cold it has underfloor heating. The shower would be a tight squeeze for a larger person, but you can have a bath instead ... And there's room for a little camp bed in the attic I think... It's a proper quaint little cottage

Lovely old building in a small village, with nice surroundings for walking. There is a very pleasant garden with plenty of seating. The accommodation was very comfortable with a super big bed. The staff were great and very helpful. The dinner and breakfast were very tasty.

So many little thoughtful touches like bread and milk etc in the kitchen ready for us but also yoghurt, jams, orange juice fruit etc. The owner and his sister were also really nice and we felt welcome straight away. The location is really good too!

Some of the furniture and the bathroom was a little dated but it didn’t really bother us. This place is such good value for money. It is up quite a few steps so I guess not ideal for people with poor motibility.

The side tables hadn’t been cleaned properly as there was sticky stuff all over one (looked like caramel) the fire alarms also went off sporadically really early around 6am and then it happened again about 20 minutes later so our one opportunity for a kid free lay in was unfortunately non existent:( (They weren’t on long enough for it to be a drill, it was as though it was a mistake)

The bathroom needs proper cleaning. The shower 🚿 head holes has some irritating site. Also, other guests were too noisy and didn't bother about other guests.
