  Very good location, shop and petrol station opened until 22:00 just round the corner. Parking on site. Fully equipped kitchen and toiletries provided. Quiet location, comfortable beds, overall clean. Good wi-fi connection.

  Really comfortable rooms perfect for an overnight as we were staying for a wedding nearby. Staff were really helpful quick to answer any questions and were even able to arrange slightly earlier check in to drop bags.

  the main reason for choosing The Victoria was the view, the breakfast was spot on. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was great it meant we could use our towel for longer

  The room although comfy was looking tired, in the bathroom the paint on the ceiling was peeling off and the plug in the sink was leaking water it also needed more shelf space. the hotel could do with a lift.

  While the accommodation itself was comfortable, there were significant issues that negatively impacted my stay. Firstly, I was extremely disappointed to discover that the hotel does not offer a luggage storage service. This resulted in an additional £14 expense for external storage, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Secondly, despite promptly informing the reception about an accidental plate breakage, I was charged an outrageous £15. This charge is unreasonable and does not reflect the level of customer service I expected, especially given the fact that reception not so much as mentioned a charge when I went to inform them. I attempted to resolve these issues with the management before writing this review, but unfortunately, my correspondence received no response whatsoever, not even an acknowledgment. These issues overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable stay. I have experienced much better overall service, friendliness and individual communication in more humble places - not to mention the service and attention I usually receive and expect from upmarket establishments (especially if they define themselves as "luxury"). It all feels very calculated, saving money on good service and getting guests to pay extra wherever the chance arises. I strongly urge the management to address these shortcomings to improve the experience for future guests.

  We had a problem with the room door not closing which we identified as soon as we tried to leave our room. Plus the hotel was busy and clearly not prepared at the end of the night for a lot of guests to come back to the bar. Big concerts going on that day so should have been better prepared. 1 staff serving (Billy was great btw) but not fair on her or on guests that had to queue for 20 mins for a drink / food to then be told they had run out of food and could only take payment from the card held on account
