The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Over the course of our walk from Exmouth to Poole this was the most expensive place we stayed at, but we concluded you get what you pay for. It was definitely our best room of the trip - large, clean and airy, with a fantastic en suite, including both walk-in shower and bath. What a treat! The location is perfect for walkers, right on the Coast Path and next to the beach. Food was good too. Staff were all very friendly and happy to provide us with an early (and very good) Sunday breakfast so we could get off in good time.

No complaints from us!

We stayed for four nights. The stay, it was truly an experience of staying in Grasmere in honour of Wordsworth. We had no complaints about the food. Jams and marmalades at breakfast were Tiptree, which was nice. The building is old and a bit difficult to move around with luggage and the floors creak in places, but not a major problem for our stay.

As in the Lake District as a whole, the bus is a convenient way to get around, but it is a bit of a pain if you have more than one suitcase. If you are prepared to take a taxi to get around with your suitcase, it will take a long time even if you ask a hotel to call you a taxi, due to the number of taxis and the areas they are in operation. There are taxi ranks in front of railway stations, but it depends on luck whether you get a car that will accept a long-distance ride. Uber also has a small number of vehicles, so it is not easy to call them. Of course, this is not about hotels, but about what to look out for when travelling in the Lake District.

THE PRICE THAT WE PAID FOR THE ROOM

Breakfast menu was a little limited. Booking.com suggested that the breakfast was £9.75 fixed price extra. It wasn't and B.c need to sort out their website.

Stairs. Room was on top floor 3 flights up. Flat screen TV too small for the room. We are asked if we wanted the room to be serviced, for the price this should be a given. Bed was made and bin emptied (no need for either) but the towels weren't changed even though we left them on the floor (usual signal to change them).

Had room over courtyard , other guests were noisy up until about 11.30 , also woken at 3 am by drunk guest banging doors who was obviously shut out of room.
