The location is perfect, step out the door right onto Mathew Street! Having read reviews about the noise from below and not being able to sleep I had the fear after booking it that the group wouldn't like it/get a sleep. We had one of the rooftop apartments and the noise was minimal, I was really pleasantly surprised :-) There was a lovely touch of a sleep mask and ear plugs by the beds in case we needed them as well which was very thoughtful. The apartment was lovely and clean and cannot fault it in anyway and the contact with Happy Days Apartments was excellent and they couldn't have been more helpful.

There was nothing at all we didn't like, it was fab! (maybe a couple more loo rolls would have been good but I'm not going to mark them down for that..) We would highly recommend staying in the rooftop apartments.

This was self catering therefore breakfast not provided. The cottage was refurbished to a very good standard but, because of the layout it had a lot of stairs with the shower in the eaves of the cottage and sadly not suitable for a larger guest but well furnished.

The parking, we now know was a long way from the cottage and I felt it should have been made clear that parking is on the other side of the canal, completely unsuitable for me as I cannot walk long distances due to severe health conditions. I have to add that, had I had known this I would have never made the booking. If parking was nearby, which does not look possible without agreement and payment to neighbours, this would then be very nice indeed.

Everything thing was very well managed, communicated and maintained. Full marks for cleanliness, communication and instructions, really enjoyed our stay at Ivy Shores.

The beds were very comfortable, however the staff (reception, bar and housekeeping) were the best thing about the hotel. Simply for this, we will return.

The food in the restaurant was mediocre at best, and the cocktails were dreadful. I would suggest a mixologist come and complete staff training. If they had been drinkable, we would have stayed for many more. I have never ever left a cocktail undrunk before until now. The air con in the hotel was either not working properly or it needs maintenance. It was way too warm in the room and the main area.

Absolutely stunning cottage, immaculate condition and location. Away with group of friends had an amazing time and took in the tranquil views.
