Chalk Farm Hotel was comfortable and very convenient for walking on the South Downs. My room was very large with good quality tea, coffee and biscuits as well as a complimentary bottle of spring water. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was very good. The place has a lot of character and has an interesting George Orwell connection as it is thought that Animal Farm was based on Chalk Farm

It was fine for me, but taller people would have to duck to get into the shower area. Unsurprisingly for such an old building the walls are thin so noise carries, although I didn't find it a problem.

Everything about the place was lovely! The location in front of the water was dreamy and you are able to use some tables and chairs to have the aperitive or dinner/lunch outside with a fantastic view! Everything in the inside was well organized with some available spaces to rest and spend time together. I would definitely go back! And food is qualitative!

Very convenient location to Paddington Station. Very good to have lift. Offers rooms inward facing so no traffic noise, friendly staff.

Loved the location of the hotel and the lively atmosphere at the hotel bar during the evenings.

The beds were not very comfy. There was not enough staff at the hotel bar as ordering and receiving our items took years.

The room was very small and tired, the bathroom was damaged and had broken items in. There was no fridge available despite being on the description. The hotel hosted a wedding on our second night which we weren't made aware of, with very loud music continuing late and drunk people walking up and down our corridor which was supposed to be a 'quiet dog friendly' corridor, I travelled with my pet who was therefore barking at all the noise all night. Because of the wedding there was not enough parking for other guests and people with non-electric cars were parked in the electric car charging area

Very noisy both from people within the hotel and outside. Minimal toiletries in bathroom so felt quite cheap. Not a room for anyone over 5 ft 8 due to sloping ceilings

I couldn’t buy food for my young children in the restaurant, the chef was busy until 830pm which was too late, so my kids ate crisps and chocolate for dinner!
