Step back in time to this 1930s art deco hotel, set on its own island just off the coast. Stayed in a superb suite, very spacious with king size bed, cloakroom,spacious lounge with Nespresso machine and an endless supply of coffee. Nice extra touches included chocolates delivered each day and some fudge. Food in the Pilchard Inn was excellent, as was the dinner in the ballroom in the Saturday evening, with music from a three piece band. Would recommend.

House itself and grounds need some TLC. Investment is needed to ensure the shine isn't lost from this jewel of a hotel.

The view from your window was amazing, staff were excellent location perfect, just around the corner from the underground. Staff were so friendly. Rooms were clean.

Hotel needs a general upgrade. Everything is very tired and outdated. Did not sleep well, the double bed made up of twin singles was exceptionally uncomfortable. Breakfast was a bit was an experience..., buffet food brought out in stages means you were eating your bacon while you waited for the eggs or sausage to come out from the kitchen...

We went due to the staircase and restaurant salvaged from the Olympic. This was excellent, although the hotel could make so much more of this.

Staff were pleasant enough but not exceptional. E.g at breakfast only 3 tables taken and when asked if we could sit at a different table to the one allocated it was a big issue. A smile can go a long way. Did eventually let us sit at a different table. Nobody else arrived so just what was the issue. Wine wasn't opened and poured at evening meal and told didn't have liqueur we ordered, I haven't heard of that were the waitresses words. Later, when in the bar they had the liqueur. Room was supposed to be superior but was a bit tired, with no pictures on walls, a very drafty window, we had to put towels at the window to stop the draft. Furniture tired and old, we had to ask for toilet rolls as not left. All this said, we probably would stay again.

I booked a twin room and found no sockets for charging phones by the beds. So couldn’t plug in my phone to charge overnight. Also the second bed was just pushed against the wall and headboard had a light in it, which was uncomfortable and dangerous in my opinion
