Great apartment with tons of space for a group of friends or a family. We loved that it came properly kitted out for a self-catering stay - some places give you two forks and a mug! - whereas this apartment had a well-stocked kitchen and properly furnished rooms. It's also nicely decorated with very new, clean bathrooms, which make a big difference. We felt immediately comfortable and at home. We picked this apartment because we knew the area and wanted to stay near friends, but it would be equally good for tourists as there are buses to central London literally outside, and Peckham Rye train station 10 minutes' walk away. East Dulwich and Peckham also have an amazing array of shops and restaurants between them, and fabulous parks. Highly recommend it and we would stay again.

Our main complaint was the keys - accessing the lockbox was fine, but two out of three locks were almost impossible to open. I really hope the management get this sorted before the next visitors, as it was really disconcerting having to spend 10 minutes wiggling the key in the dark... The apartment had plenty of towels - which was great as many places don't do this - but there was no spare bedding which we would have expected as standard for a two week stay, especially given the price. Unfortunately some bits of the apartment hadn't been cleaned as well as others which was a shame - we needed to do a bit of cleaning when we arrived - but this wasn't a dealbreaker as the overall standard of the finish in the apartment was very good. The basement (internal) bathroom had a strong drain smell - we found the extractor fan made it worse. As long as we kept the bathroom door closed the smell didn't affect the bedroom. Finally...we arrived on a really cold evening and the heating was turned off and locked with a pin code. We had to wait a couple of hours before the management company could get the host to remove the pin code remotely. Again, this is something that will hopefully not be an issue for anyone else. All these things could have been better, but didn't stop us enjoying the stay and we still recommend it!

Wow! Hazlitt's is gorgeous! It is an independent and unique hotel, with huge amounts of character and beautifully historic. You are not in a modern chain hotel here. We found it wonderful and so cosy and deeply comfortable. Our room was lovely and so relaxing, great bed, fabulous classic bath, and exquisite decoration. There were also wonderful lounge areas, which we enjoyed in the morning for a splendid tea/coffee spread and then later cocktails (serve yourself on a honesty bar basis) in the evening. The location is spot-on as well - we had restaurant and theatre reservations and were a 10 minute walk to both! AND we were welcomed by Jasper the cat!

John and Jill are a lovely couple and very helpful with anything we needed and make up feel welcome. The cottage is large and spacious and always warm and cozy. The bed was so comfortable and it was so peaceful to watch all the birds in the garden and the chickens in the garden. The wildlife cameras are brilliant and we got to see the barn owl sleeping. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and it was lovely. Sitting in front of a roaring fire with your feet ip after a day out on the bikes.

Very conveniently closed from Britanny Ferries terminal (10min walk). Perfect location for a stopover before next day travel. A very friendly and warm welcome from staff both on arrival and departure. The single bedroom was far more spacious than I was expecting, especially the bathroom. This was the quietest night in an hotel in a decade (I could not hear noise from neighbours). Thank you so much.

The ambience, the calm, the lovely well thought out decor and furnishings. The hot tub! The cosy bed upstairs, the coffee machine also did the trick. It really is a lovely, cosy, warm and relaxing place. Loads of room and all the facilities you could want.

I didn't see any chickens! The weather was rubbish! Apart from that nothing really. Could do with a bit of cooking oil as we forgot but that's our problem.
