The Yeo Dale Hotel, a charming family-owned establishment situated in the heart of Barnstaple, Devon, offers a cosy and traditional atmosphere within a townhouse setting. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, setting the tone for a pleasant stay. The single room I reserved was located on the top floor of the hotel, providing a compact yet comfortable space with a cosy bed for a good night's rest. While the car park is on the smaller side, I was able to find a spot. However, clearer signposting to the car park would enhance the overall guest experience and make parking more convenient. Guests can enjoy a delicious and freshly cooked breakfast at the hotel, setting a positive start to the day. Overall, my experience at the Yeo Dale Hotel was enjoyable, and I would not hesitate to book a stay here again when visiting Barnstaple.

It was great to sit out after supper with a glass of bramble gin kindly left in my room and listen to the birdsong. Lovely.

The house was lovely and very clean and the staff were very helpful. It is a very central location close to the beach.

Great view from the huge windows - just like a stage. Fully equipped. Tranquil. Parking and outdoor space. All good.

The outside look of the building.

Parking area was flooded (due to rainfall). Reception staff pre-occupied, didn’t make eye contact and didn’t give us any information about any facilities. Room was small and on a slope, the bed was on the slope and you could roll out if not careful. The bathroom was tiny and also on a slope. Even the toilet was on a slope. Very noisy next to a main road. Cleanliness - carpets were filthy throughout the hotel and room. The following morning we even found a crisp on the floor next to the bed (we hadn’t eaten any crisps) and also a dirty pair of socks (which didn’t belong to us). The worrying thing is we didn’t see them the night before so assume they were in the bed and fell out overnight 🤢 Breakfast - continental side was basic and the cooked side was very disappointing.
