Beautifully designed house close to John o Groats and the NC500 but also lovely local places to explore like Whaligoe Steps and Castle Sinclair Girnigoe. Duncansby Stacks is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Even got to see a glimpse of the northern lights! The only neighbours were very sweet ewes and lambs. We loved the little basket of goodies on arrival, delicious and made the house extra welcoming. Extremely well-equipped kitchen though it took a while to hunt down the hidden spatula draw. You could definitely get to this cottage without having a car and then stay home and enjoy the house, it's really lovely, but to make the most of this place and the surroundings, a fair amount of driving is needed (but that is quite unavoidable of course going on holiday to somewhere so remote).

I'm glad I took extra towels with me because even with the lovely ones provided I did have to use them all when I accidentally soaked the bathroom multiple times because of the design of the shower. Figured it out on my third attempt... :D It is also quite close to the fast road if you have pets or children perhaps. It also means sitting outside could be noisy if it's busy (but do note by busy I mean a few cars per minute etc. A barely noticeable thing when you're surrounded by all the sheep and sunshine on the patio).

The breakfast was exceptional. I had a full English and my wife had Scrambled eggs with bacon. Plenty of tea and fruit juice, local bacon and sausages, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased and would stay at the Loopy Shrew the next time we are in the area.

We were only there for one night. There was plenty of parking in the town but you had to make sure you had paid. The car parks were privately run and were checked very frequently, even at 0800 hours. Lovely town.

Excellent location, direct access to the main local street, room was styled in an immersive cool way. Excellent small plate options for dinner and great brunch included in the price with the hotel. Would come again and highly recommend to friends

Really friendly staff, 3 mins quick walk to airport, cheaper car parking saves £60 day wow

I think the council need to look at the short cut to airport, it needs cutting back, as certainly may put off people staying if they have an early trip to airport, 3 mins walk, in the dark, as lighting nkf good, suggest hotel makes a complaint

Mattress to soft, gave me a bad back. Shower too small for me. Room not worth £100 a night. Wished I'd booked a larger one if I'd had known.

Pub could do with a deep clean ,bathroom toilet was letting a sewage smell into the room.
