The lady at reception was so lovely and welcoming, and was giving us suggestions of places to visit around the area. The room was clean and mostly quiet during our stay. The hotel is in a good location and a short walk to the centre. Although we didn't have the breakfast during our short stay, we did notice that they had a large range of vegan options which we were impressed by.

There was a lot of loud drilling on the morning that we were leaving coming from the room opposite. Thankfully we were leaving an hour later so it didn't bother us too much, but not ideal if we were staying longer. The room is quite warm and there is no aircon. We were able to get the windows open slightly but it did take some time to cool down. There was a strange sound, sort of like interference or similar, which seemed like it was coming from the smoke alarm in our room. It happened various times throughout the day, including the early hours of the morning which woke us up. Not sure what it was but something that the hotel need to look into. I didn't find the bed to be that comfortable, although my partner did so I guess that's just personal preference :)

Pleasant, quiet location (apart from Saturday afternoon/early evening). Accommodation was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Enjoyed the whirlpool bath.

Repetative, long emails from Sykes Holidays and/or Booking.com giving the same information some of them so long and repeating the same information you could easily miss something important. No flexibility on arrival or departure times. Having to clear up, strip beds etc as well as doing our own packing up didn't make for a relaxed end to our stay and seemed a bit much given the price we paid. We had no contact with the house next door who we presume were our hosts. They played loud music on Saturday afternoon/evening when we would have liked to have sat out in the garden on one of the few sunny days. We would have liked some brighter ceiling lighting in the living room, some more absorbant tea towels and a tea cosy!!

Very reasonable rate for double room...looks like hotel is being updated or refurbished as no bar facilities at the moment.

Access to the rooms. No lift. Narrow winding stairs and heavy fire doors to try to hold open while carrying luggage. The restaurant was ok but not worth the price. My second morning I had to wait half an hour for the cooked breakfast. My third morning no problem with delay because no cooked breakfast although paid for, just the worst buffet I have ever experienced.

Breakfast has gone downhill. We stay regularly and unfortunately the buffet breakfast was sparing and messy and did not have a lot in it when we came down for breakfast. There used to be a larger choice but this has been reduced.
