Peaceful and roomy unit in beautiful countryside south of Cambridge town Wonderful hostess Jean, whose family has owned the farm for decades, and affectionate dogs on the property! Free parking Robust breakfast Lots of small thoughtful touches in the room like a flashlight, real cream for the coffee, biscuits, nice soaps, etc. Big shower Short walk to town with a great pub and top quality food Only about 17 miles to London Stansted airport (base for Ryanair)

It’s about 30 minutes to Cambridge town so if that is your destination you have a bit of a drive

The hotel is very nice, very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The gardens were exceptionally nice, and there were many nice places to sit. The bottled water that came complimentary with the room was nice. The bed was nice. Breakfast had both positives and negatives. They had croissants, pan chocolate, and nice bread for toasting. There is also a very nice Indian restaurant just around the corner from the hotel.

The biggest problem I had was the internet, which was intermittent at best upstairs and unconnectable in the room I was staying in. The remote control did not work particularly well. I can't say that I a fan of the cooked breakfast. It had a Spanish theme, and the hash browns had a very strong herb taste that I felt was unpleasant. The hotel is also a bit of a challenge to find. I completely missed the sign saying the The Priory, and had to park up and find the hotel on foot, before eventually parking.

Fantastic view from the balcony and a bay window; very clean room and bathroom; lots of good quality extras eg snacks; decent mugs and glasses; great games in the communal sitting area and interesting stories behind them; owner very welcoming; excellent breakfast at a great price for the good quality, with the option to eat in the room plus vegan and vegetarian options if you give enough notice; well stocked bar

Only one suggestion - room could do with a bit more storage space

Staff where very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was in a lovely airy room, food was great, good quality and variety and Wendy was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable and over looked the garden. It's a great hotel and very close to a lovely walk along the Thames, and into town, which has a pub there to stop and have a drink outside.

There's was no hotel information in the room, no local information. There was a hardback book on Oxford but we had to go to reception and ask about restaurant times, about walking into town,, no WiFi information and I need a single use shower cap which with the price of our room thought this would be available but nothing in the room and no information to say available at reception and I wasn't going to ask as this makes me feel awkward not for others but does for me. Also the bathrobes.. Well if your not size 10 don't bother putting it on its not a good confidence booster when both robes don't fit! This is the reason for lower rating on facilities.

Basic but comfy rooms. Great location. No faffing about when booking in.

£15 per piece of luggage for storage is extortionate!

The accommodation is how it states and was fine for what we needed.

There is an option to pay to park on the driveway of the property which we did, however when we arrived there was no room to do this so I contacted the owner who said he would come and sort the problem. After waiting 45 minutes I messaged to say we were on our way out so I would just have a refund for the parking. I then received a message back to say he had been informed we had parked on the drive and would have to move (I did not appreciate being made out to be a liar). We had been asked for our registration number when paying for the parking so I sent photos of the cars on the drive to show they were not ours. At 9:15pm that evening I received a message to say there was now space so we could park there, not much use to us at this time considering we arrived at 2pm and were 30 minutes away. I would like to point out that the charge is only £5 (which has not been refunded) but I want to make others aware that its probably not worth doing!
