Lovely cottage surrounded by plants, grass and trees. Wonderful bird song all around with birds nesting in bird boxes around the garden. If you're lucky enough to get good weather like we did, it's a beautiful place to sit out and enjoy the peace. Anne was the best kind of host - there if you needed anything but will leave you to it. I highly recommend a stay at The Garden Cottage.

We had a lovely feature suite - the Byron. Staff were really attentive. Hot breakfast was cooked individually for us. We really like the walk around the old Worthington reservoir that is reachable from the hotel grounds. We like the old Manor House part of the hotel.

The spa was out of action due to renovations. The menu in the restaurant was very limited and more like pub food - we would have liked something nicer as we were celebrating a birthday. It was a lovely evening and we would have liked to have had our pre-dinner drinks outside, but this option wasn’t available at this time. We don’t like the newer annex part of the hotel - you can hear everything from next door.

Highly recommend staying here. We had a spacious family room and it was great. Lovely view out to sea. The staff were lovely. So helpful and kind. Parking was so handy. Breakfast five stars! Tram stop close too. Definitely planning a return visit here.

Loved the space, the garden and games room were spot on. Kitchen was large and well equipped. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. In a lovely quiet setting. The hamper was such a lovely surprise and can’t thank you enough.

Perhaps bigger towels?

Good location, staff were great, nice beer garden area, free access to swimming pool and gym.

Shower was cold with the knobs falling apart, cleaner changed the toilet rolls and towels but never made the bed. Not a big deal but strange enough to note. Hard to justify the price too, about £200 a night and not much difference than any other budget hotels, I’d imagine it’s because the football was on which probably explains the price which you can understand.

Breakfast and dinner were very good

Annexe room was up stairs and quite away from reception, when carrying luggage. View of car park not the greatest but OK.

Very central. We'll equipped.

Fridge wasn't working effectively. Didn't keep things cold.

location is good

The room overlooked the bar, so no window outside/natural light, or ability to let some fresh air in the room was hot and stuffy. Also really noisy as it was above the bar, pretty disappointed.
