Wonderful location for a very chilled break, ideal for those with dogs or horses. Owner Rachel is a brilliant host; attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable and clearly gets as much joy from seeing her guests having a good time as they do. Ideally placed for the Northumbrian coast and situated in an area of dark skies which is perfect for star spotting and the aurora borealis. Comfy hut but still plenty of space, very cosy quilt meant lying in bed looking out at the wildlife became the best start to the days.

We liked the hotel close proximity to Fort William town centre and train station because we were there to travel on the Jacobite train to Mallaig. There are various restaurants in the town serving locally caught sea food at reasonable prices. The hotel was very clean generally, our room was in the original building and looked out over well kept gardens to Loch Linnhe. The bedding and en-suite bathroom were spotless! The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful as were the breakfast staff.
Negative section of review
The hotel is very much serving tour bus tourism hence there are always large tour groups moving through the hotel especially in the breakfast room. This did lead to crowding between 7am-9am ahead of bus departure times.

The room was very comfortable, bright spacious and warm. Both beds had a good mattress. Breakfast is cooked to your preference, very good value for money! It's a typical Scottish building that makes you feel at home. Welcoming and lovely host. It is well situated with private parking. Shops, restaurants, takeaway, and a petrol station are literally around the corner. Dingwall is a quiet village with a great location to explore the Highlands

The twin room with private entrance we had booked was already attributed to someone else. We were allocated a twin room on the 1st floor. The room was really comfortable but having booked a room with a private entrance, we were a bit disappointed on arrival.

The Mill is in a central location. The room was large enough, staff helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great!
Negative section of review
The room had a laminate floor so dust gathered. Also the bathroom was a bit tired and the lack of window in the bathroom made it very stuffy. The bed was comfortable but it creaked loudly at every move, which interrupted our sleep.

Good location, plenty of on site parking, room had a nice view out over river
Negative section of review
There are a lot of steps and fire doors in some areas of the hotel, which may be an issue for the less mobile. If this applies to you then request a ground floor room.

Where do I start! Bed bugs, sofa broken, no netflix or sky sport as Internet was terrible, wasnt free parking, access door bearly closed so very unsecured especially as the access door was down a stinking back alley way past rat infested kebab shop bins. Host was very slow to respond and then lied about the refund even though pictures of all defects sent. Had to complain through booking.com in the end to receive a partial refund. Horrible place, wouldn't wish it on my enemy.
