Staying at Abbots Wing was magical and quintessentially Cotswold with a many decorative features of the host's international interests - paintings, weaves, sculptures. From start to finish the host was attentive and concerned about the smallest of details to make us welcome and comfortable. The colours, bed and bedding in the 'Indian room' invited curiosity, sleep and a lazy morning in equal measures. We had a choice of bath or shower room - which were also a visual delight. No room was intended to serve just a utilitarian function. Our breakfast - again everything served had a slight twist, sometimes a story. We were not rushed with breakfast and ate overlooking an elegant English walled garden complete with church spire and hills in the background. I hope to return when I am next in the area. Anyone looking for a true warm and elegant English experience will find it all here.

Location was really good, close to the overground station and 20 minutes bus ride to Notting Hill. The host answered all our enquiries in less than an hour. The apartment was small but all the beds were comfy and big enough. The apartment was clean and not noisy It was good to have shampoo, body and hand wash in the apartment, nice detail. There were lots of supplies for the kitchen: dishes, cuttlery, pans...and also to clean and dispose the garbage. Same for the bathroom

The living room/kitchen space was a little bit small to fit the five of us. Bathroom was a little bit small, if you're a big person can be tricky to move inside it. Towels were too small to dry an adult size body. If you travel with a small kid with a push chair be aware that the upper floors apartment don't have a lift and the stairs are tight and carpeted and can be a little bit dangerous to go up and down them. In fact, I almost trip off the stairs twice.

The breakfast was excellent we had fresh fruit, fruit juice yogurts, full English breakfast if we wanted it toast white or brown tea or coffee I had my own coffee so I got pot of hot water which was excellent for me. Staff were very quick to serve us each morning. Excellent service

The furniture in the King size room was not to our taste plus the chairs are too low when sitting down. Although room was spotless clean. Think Orkney needs a Premier Inn for the comfort of guests it works out the same price so I don't t see what the problem is ? ??

My partner had a golf lesson at the nearby glenagles. The hotel is situated close by, like the fact it was a relaxed atmosphere, a lovely room, spacious. The staff were all friendly and smiley.
