The restaurant worked very well. Waiters were extremely cordial, warm and well trained-the person managing breakfast (?) who managed the entire morning on his own and Sam who was at dinner, stand out for professionality. The views from the hotel windows as well as in and around were lovely. Location was great and we could see spectacular sunsets. Also, very close to Ayrsgarth Falls. The food was impeccably cooked-compliments to the chef! even something like scrambled eggs were beautifully prepared. Except, tamarind sauce with the chicken...don't, really.

We did not get rooms close to each other though we had booked months before. In fact, our son was away in another building! `since it was a birthday, it hurt more. The young woman at the reception was cold about my query and got me riled up. some stuff about 'we should go to them directly ...' .it felt that coming via booking.com meant that we had incurred this treatment ..really? hotels do say these things but it doesnt mean they keep family members apart. I have not had this problem anywhere before. So great was this disappointment with no kindness from the mgt that the score is 7, still quite generous. Some chairs in the room and outside seating at the cottage would have been great-just to enjoy sunsets.

Only 5-10 mins walk from Bristol Airport terminal. Arrived late in the evening. Arrived at 1am and was no problem for them. Unfortunately flight was delayed. Instructions were easy to understand. Facilities were what they needed to be for an overnight stay. Was only there for 6 hours but served its purpose well. Was exactly what I needed and a good price too.

Mattress wasn’t the most comfortable but I was so tired I didn’t care!! Room is small but is advertised as so. Knew what to expect.

Great location, and a proper warm Yorkshire welcome. View from Room 1 overlooked the bay and was great to wake up to. Breakfast was great- wished we could have stayed longer.

I was shown the room about 4pm when we booked in and asked if it was the garden suite, the receptionist replied yes it was. When shown the room, it wasnt what id booked so went to reception when i was informed id been "upgraded" to a king-size bed, with bath and shower. I had specifically booked the garden suite as I was treating my cousin after a harrowing year. We'd been away for 7 bights to crete and this was our final night before I flew back to England. I had to get up at 0500 to leave at 0530 so had little a 13 hour stay. We do not sleep in the same bed so they checked and offered us another room.......when the deputy manager went to go into the room, there were people already in the room. We were asked to sit at the bar until she got this sorted out, and then went to check the room before showing us. We had now wasted 2 hours of our stay. We went to jacuzzi and pool which was very nice then went to the bar. I was so disappointed being a 5 star hotel I wanted a lovely last night with my cousin as time is precious for us both. We ordered triple cooked chips, which were barely cooked once. Dessert was very good. My cousin was very disappointed for me as I wanted it to be special so asked whilst we were in the middle of the room changes would I recompensed, the reply was, I will let you know. She went off shift and we never heard anything and she'd been defending herself stating they'd upgraded us all with good intentions. My cousin rang and spoke to the duty manager who knew nothing about this. He offered us free breakfasts. I said I was leaving at 0530 for the airport and was given a ham and cheese sandwich, pear, muffin and water. My cousin dropped me off the airport came back to the Culluden and had breakfast which she said was good. Overall, very disappointing for a 5 star hotel. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.
