Bus stop just outside (a few metres of walking) the pub, options for lunch & dinner, as well as a great place to wind down from exploring the city in the evenings. Comfortable bed, coffee machine at the rooms was a nice touch. Really clean and surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was not provided by the pub, however there was a cafe just a few metres from the place with delicious breakfast & good prices.

Friendly staff, a wonderful old Victorian building with many original features. Spacious comfortable rooms, ours with a view of Durham. A good breakfast with a good choice.

This was a wonderful, historic hotel in a beautiful location opposite a park in a small, picturesque village. The bedroom was comfortable and there was a shower over a bath.

Shower pressure was weak and it was a bit of a maze to find our room.

Lovely room and view. Hotel facilities were fantastic. In a fantastic location, with plenty of access to some great things to do.

Very nice breakfast. Shame you have to eat in the dark

Once through the entrance doors your met with curtains which you have to open yourself - not helpful when hands full of luggage or assisting anyone. Once inside the lighting inside was terrible, making the atmosphere somewhat seedy and depressing. When you step back outside the daylight actually becomes too bright as the hotel is far too dark inside. Not something anyone likes to experience . The bed frames overhang the bed so watch out not to knock yourself everytime you walk around bed . Take a USB charging lead as the only plugs are away from the bedside tables.
