Breakfast was quite good although the spread was limited (eggs, mushrooms on 1 day, bread and related, hash browns, cereals, sausage, ham, fruits, coffee and juices). Location is about ten minutes walk from Birmingham new street train station, and near bus stops. We walked about 20 minutes to think tank museum (which is fun!), as there were some construction around the current train and for the future high speed rail. Train station has couple of malls with lots of shops and eateries! There were 2 hobs at the induction plate, and there’s good cooking facilities with microwave oven. There were free laundry and coffee making facilities at lobby level, making it a cozy stay.

They have strict regulations in terms of occupancy so even though we had 2 young kids, we were asked to change to a bigger apartment. The apartment was really big and cozy so not a big issue. Secondly, no bottled water in room which seemed to be a trend in UK hotels.

Very nice looking place, room was neat and ready early. Staff weren’t in but were able to help me through phone before i checked in. Bed was comfortable and it’s easy to access being close to the bus station and about a 15/20 minute walk from the train station.

Steps up to rooms but got used to them. Kept us fit.

Beautiful and quiet spot. Comfortable room and there was the same print hanging on the wall that used to hang above my late grandmother's fire. It envoked many happy memories!

No tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Had to use the shared kitchen. There was a large group of cyclists staying and they were all sitting in the kitchen and it felt a little awkward going in to make a tea and disturbing their conversation. The over bath shower had no curtain so the floor got soaked when I used the shower. The water from the shower was a dribble at best. I would've had more pressure from a watering can!

No plug in the sink in the bathroom. No soap in the dispensers - which didn't work anyway. Extremely restricted breakfast choice. As it is run by Muslims, I didn't expect ham, bacon, pork or pork sausages but the choice remained very narrow. I asked for cereal; was presented with a bowl of corn flakes & milk that had been heated in a microwave. Absolutely no idea why. It was replaced promptly to be fair but I don't know why the waiter felt it necessary to stand over me while I poured cold milk from the plastic bottle provided into the bowl of (thankfully dry) cornflakes. If you think £75/night was good value then it was good value. Second star overall is because the staff meant well.
