Great hotel, staff couldn't have been more helpful, lovely food in the hotel restaurant, hotel convenient for Buxton town centre, ample parking, room clean, comfortable bed and furniture, what's not to like!

The hotel is dingy and tatty. It's in need of a refurbishment. Poorly decorated, old carpet, strained toilets. Our room was a great size but noisy as the double glazing missing. Light not working, no bulb. There was the previous guests underwear in the drawer still. I appreciate that the building is old and the character of this is part of the sloping floor. The photos on this site are quite misleading when you actually get up close. Ok for a night but couldn't do any longer.

Breakfast was fabulous, nothing was too much trouble .we didnt fancy anything off the menu but was made wot we asked for straight away .

Last nite bit of a disappointing evening. We cudnt use the dog friendly area even tho had been using all week .staff were lovely n we received free drinks but owner of hotel shudnt advertise dog friendly n then change his mind.we ate elsewhere that night .but rest of stay n staff were all wonderful.

The room had a heater. It is a plus. When I had a problem, the staff was giving an adequate feedback.

The room and place overall, including bathroom and corridor, is very dirty. Our stay started from the moment when we wanted to turn on the heater and there was dirt and spider. But okay. The biggest scam is that the room does not look like at the picture at all - they are extremely small. No space, no wardrobe. The water pressure in shower is so low that it is hard to wash. Everywhere there are hair. In our first day there was a lady who took shower for 1 hour in the morning and there was a big queue to wait. She didn’t really care that there are other people who need bathroom in the morning — just shortly about the contingent. In the second night I woke up because our door screeched — I’m completely sure that someone put the code and tried to enter our room. The staff was helpful and gave an adequate feedback, even though they told that there is nothing in the cameras. I don’t think that I dreamt — someone opened our door in the middle of the night. The place is hard to find also when you are in London for the first time, and the neighborhood also does not give a good impression. So, if you don’t have money — go for it, but I would not recommend this tiny dirty rooms to everyone. Add 50 pounds for a room in a closer neighborhood and sleep normally.
