  Easy to find, limited on street parking but two public car parks really close. Sparkling clean and lovely staff. Stayed for the weekend with two grandchildren, 8 and 5 who loved it. Excellent value for money, would definitely recommend it.

  Room was comfortable and clean. Check in staff and bar staff polite and friendly. Location and building is fabulous. Visited many times over 25 years.

  Service in the Terrace bar for food was appalling at weekend. Eating light lunch with 3 friends. Took over an hour after taking order to produce food. When delivered was all very basic and unappetising for price charged. One item had to be returned to kitchen as was cold. Another couple in bar also had issues and returned their food. We were told they had a new chef in kitchen and were very busy with a wedding group. Do not feel this should be customers problem, as they host events continually and guests were only ordering drinks, not food. Specifically chose Dunston Hall as it holds some lovely memories for me from when I lived in the area and it always had a reputation for quality. Very disappointed that they fell so short.this time. I raised my concerns with bar manager and complaint was resolved, but my friends and I have agreed it has put us off choosing this venue again in future for food. Overnight stay in room was lovely though and no concerns with the breakfast service.
