I like the Atlantic, it seems disloyal of me to find anything to criticise as I've been calling there for many years now, usually on a short-notice whim, and it's a good no-frills place to stay in the heart of the town. The rooms are always good, better if you get a seaview (which I didn't) but I use hotels as sleeping and bathroom only, I usually eat out for every meal so, once established, as long as the bed is there for me to fall into, brilliant. I don't need spa facilities, free gowns or minibar, so it suits me down to the ground. Getting parked safely closeby can be a problem, too many boy racers doing doughnuts round the town these days and indeed I was woken in the early hours by someone very noisily revving their car outside in the street, but that's a minor point. Otherwise just as I expected - a night's stay in a convenient and comfortable spot.

The bar. I called in for a drink after a meal out, around 9pm. There were two barmen who didn't have a clue. Not at all. I had to point to the beer pump I wanted - their English was not up to it - and they made a complete hash of pouring a pint. I've never seen so much beer wasted. 1/4 beer, 3/4 head, dump it out, same again, dump it out, same again... eventually I got 90% of a pint and reckon I was lucky. As for the Malibu and orange... I had to point along the row of bottles, they had no idea of what measure to use, and eventually after explaining many times what orange juice was - pure orange, fresh orange, all the permutations - I got a dash of orange cordial. I'm laid back so just took it with a smile, but didn't go back for a second try. It was no big deal - to me - but I can see it causing problems with others who are not so relaxed about it.

This accommodation was in an excellent location with close proximity to Windsor, Windsor Castle and Eton. The Hotel had a lovely sitting and bar area and outside seating. There was a separate breakfast area. A lovely breakfast was included, and the staff were very welcoming every morning. There were welcoming drinks on arrival and reception staff were very helpful.

Reasonable price for a comfortable hotel. It was nothing outstanding and there are nicer hotels around, but they are more expensive. Decent value for money.

The hotel is a little dated and run down in places, with old carpets and a cracked door window. Maybe a bit of money spent on it to update it and they could charge a higher rate.

Reception was slow and we were greeted with Hi Guys but we were two ladies.Breakfast cold- help your self to toast.Spa reception interested in talking to themselves and told me the towels were over there and help yourself!! no toilet brush in room-sometimes toiletries were not replaced. Bar only manned by one stressed man very slow service-all of the above does not add up to five stars.Not value for money.

The noise is so loud on the 7th floor, I stay all night without sleeping…. Terrible
