Even though it was a really busy night all the staff were friendly and efficient. Happy hour 4 till 7 at the bar. Food was really good and a bargain, 2 course meal in the restaurant for £12.50 each. Booking a must. Rooms were comfortable and clean. A great choice for us to stay and be up early for our flight.

Wow. What an awful experience this was... We come to the room, the upper windows were completely open and mind you, they are out of reach if you are average height. No bar or hook in sight to be able to close them. I tried calling reception a few times, nobody answered the phone even once. I went down to the reception which took like 10 mins walking down the hall way, waiting for the lift on the top floor... The receptionist tells me there should be a bar in the room but if there isn't they can send someone tall to close the windows. This is a ridiculous suggestion. So we need to come down 6 floors to ask someone to open or close our window if we are too warm/cold at night? We somehow managed to close one of the windows ourselves when we were cold. Don't get me started about their fire alarm. It went off 4 times at night. It went off after sounding for like 15 seconds but enough to keep waking us up. Once again we ringed the reception to ask what is going on but obviously nobody answered. I then had a look at the reviews and lo and behold apparently the alarm going off several times a night is something that has been going on for YEARS. How the hell is this acceptable? We had a deplorable night of sleep. The bed was really uncomfortable and little sleep I was able to catch resulted in back pain. We went to use their swimming pool and wellness centre. Sanitarily really bad. Pool temperature was okay but the hot tub had the same temperature as the pool which was too cold for a hot tub. The steam room didn't have a hose to clean down the chairs before you sit on them and there were only two seats in the entire pool area to rest. The bathroom had black mold on the tiles and the bath tub/shower was dangerously slippery with no handles to hold on whilst getting in or out. We have been travelling around Scotland for 3 weeks and this was by far the worst hotel I stayed in, possibly in my life. Their staff needs a good customer service training.

The breakfast was not good. We had paid for a continental but the venue said we hadn't. Therefore we paid a further £18.0 for breakfast. We had to wait 20 mins for a cup of coffee. There was lots of guests waiting and only one young girl serving. She was trying her best but clearly there was a staff shortage. No fruit juice available and croissants as needed a fill. No yoghurt. Only apples available for a fruit option it was very disappointing
