The location was perfect for us with very young children; 5 minutes walk to Black Sands and about 15 to Silver Sands (though best to avoid the coastal path to Silver Sands with a pushchair). For adults the coastal path was great for runs. The house is spacious and comfortable. The double beds are very comfortable, we'd say the single beds are probably best for children. The booking information said there was a high chair but there wasn't, but the host delivered a brand new one within hours of us arriving. There is no outdoor space but the house is so near to the sea and play park that this wasn't a problem for us. Lovely views.

There were a number of little things which surprised us for the quality of the accommodation; we fed these back to the management company and they assured me that these would be put right promptly. The most difficult thing for us with a crawling baby was that there was a line of exposed nails along the wood on the floor on the threshold from the conservatory to the living room - this meant that we had to keep the connecting door closed and couldn't make best use of the conservatory. There was an existing leak under the sink which no one told us about, with a small bowl catching the leak and having to be emptied regularly. The oven wasn't fixed properly in its housing, and there were doors which didn't close properly. With these things attended to, this would be a 5* property.

My partner and I loved our stay here. Gid and Iza are fantastic hosts who are attentive, kind and very friendly. - Gid and Iza went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, arranging champagne and birthday decor for my partner - Lovely room. It is on the main road but noises are minimal and some great views from the large bay windows - Location is superb with good access to mountains, coast and other sites, as well as to local restaurants - Breakfast was great and big portions - Good private parking

Well laid out with nice clean room that was nice and airy. Great sea view and we both fully enjoyed our breakfasts and loved the coffee too. The bar was lovely to and very comfortable to sit in. First class hotel in our view and ticked all our boxes

Accommodation in a great location and with a lot of character. The owners/managers and staff at The Crown were very friendly and positive. I experienced autumn temperatures at night, but was warm and comfortable.

The sitting room furniture was perhaps a bit dated and perhaps the sofa would be better as a corner unit to better utilise the small space. Self-catering was very limited without a sink, but I expected that.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and staff were amazing. So friendly and they all loved dogs which was lovely to see. We had an evening meal which was fantastic as was the breakfast.

Bathrooms ok but it was impossible to stop the shower from spraying water outside the bath onto floor and belongings area as shower door too short. En-suite shower reported as too small by our fellow guests. It would have been nice to have a wardrobe with hanging space in twin bedroom.
