We spent three nights here. Location great, just outside the city centre with excellent bus service outside the front door. Staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you. Wonderful aesthetic to the property, a complete one off, everyday you find something new to marvel at. Gorgeous garden, perfect for a cup of tea after breakfast. Breakfast itself was delicious and very reasonable considering the size of the spread, served in a beautiful setting. With Oxford being quite expensive for accommodation, The Galaxie is the perfect balance between comfortable luxury and price. Look forward to returning.

Missing a few amenities in the room. Hand wash/shower gel/bathroom bin. Nothing major and I’m sure if we had asked it would have been sorted. More of an oversight than fault.

I stayed here for the second time, primarily because of the excellent location and pleasant staff. But this time we got a room with an ancient bathroom and a shower where it was impossible to wash. A big minus for the sink too, because hot and cold water are on separate taps and it was impossible to mix the water for washing. It is obvious that the hotel is in the renovation phase because last time we had a room with a new bathroom, furniture and laminate, and this time everything was very old, with a terrible carpet on the floor and dirty windows.

Location great for everything. Easy to access, easy to use heating, TV etc. really comfy, well stocked with everything we needed in the property.

We were told there would be a scratch card for the parking but there wasn't one and this made parking difficult. We would have been happy to buy one but couldn't find where to do this. The previous guests said the same thing so scratch cards for parking are not being left for guests which would help with the visit.

The quality of the hotel and pub are both really good. The food was excellent and the staff friendly.

We were woken up at 6.20am with a high pitched whine that sounded like someone was drilling. It didn’t cease. In the end a relaxing morning turned into an early exit. When I spoke to the owner he offered one free breakfast. Not really the point.
