Not much. It’s just the holiday inn still in disguise. My mattress was firm…there’s a positive.

The fact I was asked for £30 as an early check in fee, even though our room was ready. We wanted to drop our bag and then leave for a wedding. I’ve been in the events industry over 30 years and that’s a new one on me! Why are we paying for car parking? It’s not the NEC. Why was I asked for a swipe of my card when I prepaid and there is no in room facilities? You’ve had a refurb, why no air con, why were the windows in our room decades old and in desperate need of replacement. I would rather have stayed and given my money to the local Premier Inn. I spend over £3m a year as a corporate events director on events, I can wholeheartedly, after my experience with the £30 early check in fee that I will never contract another Hilton or doubletree again.

Misleading advert the papermill isn't next door to the old hall Inn. it's a 100m walk from door to door across the main road through the village. The annexe isn't away from the bar as described "the bar" uses part of it. Intimidating if you're say an 88yo woman walking past table 49 to get to her room. BTW that table (49) is 1m inside her "own entrance" Mentioned mobility concerns by phone only to be told this is a great set up due to the two rooms being above each other. Failed to mention that the walk each time you visited breakfast or dinner. Oh, and raised a complaint about not having a TV remote and was told I don't know what to do about that... Shower and Lavatory are both height restricted so if you're approaching 6' this could be an issue So if you like an ornamental TV, poor customer service and a misleading advert ...this is your place.
