Just got home after a relaxing weekend at White House farm, We were met by the lovely Sian, and shown our perfect courtyard room. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, gorgeous large bathroom, fresh jam and cream scones in the fridge, couldn’t fault anything, an absolute gem, which we highly recommend and will be returning. With a lovely breakfast brought to your door, every morning, ( we recommend the Greek yoghurt) and the friendliness of The host, this really is a perfect place to stay, and only 10 mins by car to Whitby.

Rooms were small but very pleasant and clean with the beds and pillows being very comfortable. The hotel's location is a highlight, being only two minutes' walk from several bars and restaurants as well as Earl's Court station. Staff were utterly lovely and very helpful with recommendations for the area. Tea and coffee could be replenished at check-in where there was also fruit. Hotel guests also get 15% discount at a gorgeous local cafe called Dolci located less than a five-minute stroll from the property.

There are no restaurants on site but as mentioned above, there is 15% discount at Dolci and plenty of other venues within two minutes' walk from the hotel. The curtains need to be drawn when changing as buildings from the other side of the street may be able to see in.

The food for lunch and dinner was excellent. The staff were all fantastic. The grounds are lovely and well maintained, with some beautiful trees, and there is ample parking. There are lots of birds to watch, in particular the house martins. Overall it was mostly a quiet and peaceful stay.

The heated towel rail in the bathroom made the entire room very warm upon arrival. The furnishings are a little tired. The ‘cocktail bar’ is a little odd, with an old fashioned bar, but the seating and tables feel more like a 1980s cafeteria. The dress code for dinner is not enforced, so there’s a mix of people who are well dressed and those in jeans and t-shirts. There was a wedding on at the same time as our stay, which made it a little bit rowdy and some areas were very busy with wedding guests.

The area is really convenient for getting to the beach front. The bedrooms were very well stocked up with coffees, teas, shower essentials etc. Joanne was very welcoming and even set up the front room for us to chill out in.

The room is a packed of chairs and cupboards, we felt it could be minimalised. Also, the shower took a while to get hot.

Alice & Klaus were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay special! They even had lots of toddler friendly treats & toiletries for our son. Sitting out in the garden after the sauna was ideal.

Parking spaces limited, needed to park in public street opposite, but plenty of room and only across the road so not too much of an issue. Traffic and adjacent room noise higher than I’m used to.

Water pressure was poor in a new building ! Shower did not work properly Tv did not work explained all this to the hotel it would appear they are not interested. Booking .com intervened and raised a refund!
