The Hen Den is the perfect escape from the mania of city life. Beautifully remote, spotlessly clean and nestled in a delightfully rural spot with views to die for. The super-comfy beds and a very well equipped kitchen made this one of the best breaks we've had. The fresh (huge!) eggs brought to welcome us, and a bottle of wine in the fridge were just perfect. If you love peaceful escapism, being serenaded by the local wildlife and staring at the solar system against an ink-black sky then put the Hen Den and Shropshire at the top of your holiday bucket list. Just don't tell anybody else as we want to keep it for ourselves.

Dinner was lovely at the hotel - and the waiter was absolutely charming. It's basic food but it was good. The rooms were basic too but were perfectly adequate.

Convenient, easy to find, had everything we needed. For a gig at the Hare and Hounds, we felt bad for anyone not staying over the road!

The parking was very tight, trying to cram too many cars in gave very little room to actually get out and of your car!!

Just a small thing but settings on things like the fridge were not checked so all of my groceries that I put in there on day 1 were frozen and unusable meaning on day 2 I had to throw them away . Not a big deal just a small niggle
